PVC pond liner is a water tight 0.5mm thick black sheet used for lining ponds. It is a lightweight material best used for smaller installations such as ornamental garden ponds. This type of liner is very flexible, has good puncture resistance and moulds well around corners and shelves. However, PVC is not very elastic so it needs to be fitted carefully as it won’t readily stretch into small gaps and crevices.

PVC (poly vinyl chloride) will go brittle and crack if exposed to the sun over a period of time therefore correct pond liner installation and maintenance are essential. It can’t be easily repaired as most pond liner repair products cause the liner to go brittle around the area it is applied to. This then leads to further cracks and leaks, so protecting it with an underlay liner is essential.

These pond liners are available to order in all dimensions. Epalyn (EPDM) and Butyl are black synthetic rubber sheets. They display many special features such as UV resistance, withstand extreme weather conditions, durable and flexible. Rubber liners are therefore ideal for more demanding applications. and can be readily repaired if required.
