Why Choose Epalyn 1.00mm EPDM Pond Liner?
Epalyn 1.00mm is a heavy-duty EPDM rubber pond liner designed for demanding pond and water-retention applications. Manufactured from 100% EPDM polymer, Epalyn combines exceptional flexibility and elongation with outstanding resistance to UV radiation, weathering and temperature changes.
The 1.00mm thickness provides additional material and durability compared with thinner EPDM liners, making it an excellent choice for larger garden ponds, koi ponds, lakes, reservoirs, streams and other installations where a robust, long-lasting liner is required.
Epalyn can be supplied as a flexible sheet or fabricated into a tailor-made or box-welded pond liner, allowing it to be used for both natural and formal pond designs.
What is Epalyn EPDM?
Epalyn is a synthetic rubber pond liner made from EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer). EPDM is widely used for applications where long-term resistance to sunlight, weathering and temperature changes is important. It is also used in other waterproofing applications, including roofing.
Epalyn is the brand name used for the EPDM pond liner supplied by Pond Liners Online.

How do I calculate the liner size?
If you know what length and width of Epalyn EPDM liner to order, then add them to the relevant boxes above by using the drop downs, or if you are not sure how much to order, then go to our pond liner size calculator and add in the exact measurements of your pond and the calculator will work out how much you need to order to avoid waste or disappointment.
How to install Epalyn Pond Liner
Installing a pond liner is straightforward with a little preparation. Start by excavating your pond to the required shape and depth, ensuring the top edge is level all the way around. Carefully remove any sharp stones, flint, roots or other objects that could damage the liner over time.
Before laying the liner, we strongly recommend installing a geotextile pond underlay. The underlay provides additional protection against punctures caused by stones, roots and ground movement, helping to extend the life of your pond liner.
Drape your sheet of Epalyn liner evenly over the excavation, allowing an equal overlap around all sides of the pond. Gently ease the liner into the contours of the pond, smoothing out smaller wrinkles and neatly folding any larger pleats without stretching the material.
Begin filling the pond with water slowly. As the water level rises, continue adjusting the liner so it settles naturally into the shape of the pond. When the pond is completely full, leave it for at least 48 hours before trimming any excess liner or completing the edging. This allows you to confirm that the liner has not been damaged during installation and has settled fully into position.
Once you are satisfied everything is watertight, finish the pond edges using your chosen materials. If using paving slabs or coping stones, ensure they overlap the pond liner by at least 51 mm (2 inches) to conceal and protect the liner from sunlight and accidental damage.
Expert Tip: The additional thickness of 1.00mm Epalyn makes it particularly useful where a more robust liner is required, but protective underlay is still essential. Even a heavy-duty rubber liner can be damaged by sharp stones, roots or debris beneath it.
